María-José Juárez Rodríguez

  • Hailing from Mexico City, based in Berlin a social entrepreneur since the early age of 19.

  • Design Thinking Lecturer/ Program Lead at the Hasso Plattner Institute School of Design Thinking since 2020. Where I have co-designed digitalized and implemented two academic programs.

  • Since the last 5 years, I have been coaching Design Thinking at HPI School of Design Thinking specialising in agile working mode and team dynamics.

  • Having founded two social enterprises both in Berlin and Mexico City. Focusing on community building, sustainability and women’s empowerment (both in marginalised and indigenous communities) has given me a first-hand experience of social entrepreneurship during the last 10 years.

  • With clients spanning public, private and non-profit sectors. Including organisations such as National Action Party, Melton Foundation, Politics for Tomorrow, City Administration of Lübben, Humboldt University, Universidad de la Habana, British Council, city_lab, BMW, Boiler Room, Roche, D.Collective e.V., Bundesverband Deutscher Stiftungen e.V., among others. 

  • My educational background entails an MA in public policy from the Hertie School of Governance where my research was focused on Public Innovation Labs in Berlin. I also have a year certification in Design Thinking from the HPI School of Design Thinking, and a BA in political science and public administration from the Universidad Iberoamericana

  • I’m passionate about diversity, decolonisation and climate justice.
